Corey Saunders' Blog: Nov. 8, 2011

By Corey Saunders

I've actually made my decision to attend Mt. Zion Christian Academy (NC) after weighing my options between a few prep schools that were still interested in me, attending JUCO in the spring semester, and waiting to attend prep school next year.

My fellow coach at West Virginia Prep (WV), Coach Hines, was offered a head coaching job at Mt. Zion with a second post grad team.
Coach Hines was one of the few coaches who came in and was part of the struggle with the players at West Virginia Prep.
He actually helped the players move onto better situations. He always encouraged the players to keep fighting, and ensured us that we will get through the situation as we did.
While at West Virginia Prep, the players really took a liking to coach Hines, and now that he has received the head coaching job in a better situation, he is actually reuniting most of the kids from WVP on his team.
Coach Hines influenced my decision, and as a unit we been through a lot together. Now we are looking forward to finishing the rest of the season together on this positive note.

Corey Saunders' Blog: Oct. 24, 2011

By Corey Saunders

I am still keeping my options open for schools that are interested in me.
Since most schools have started their season, I will most likely have to sit out. I've been in contact with a few prep schools, military academies, and JUCOs that have shown interest in me.
However, my work does not end there, I'll continue to work on my game, stay in the gym, and stay in shape.
I am practicing on my SAT and school work, in order to become eligible.
Basically, I am waiting until the phone rings for the opportunity for me to attend school and play.

Corey Saunders' Blog: Oct. 12, 2011

By Corey Saunders

This past Sunday I visited Mt. Zion Christian Academy. The school was great. The coaches were great. The setup of their program couldn't get any better, but they had too much depth at the point guard position with five players.
Now I have decided to visit Pacer Prep Academy (VA). Their season hasn't started yet and they have a nine-man roster with which I know I will get a lot of exposure. They have scheduled 30 games which includes five tournaments. I am really looking forward to the visit and having a successful prep season.
